Do you want to walk with more ease and less pain?
Have you ever been told, "just start walking" or have you wanted to go for a walk but you have pain? Perhaps you have been worried that you will start walking and develop pain and then be too far from home?
Believe me, I get it. Like, really get it. I have had many doctors tell me that I need to 'just start walking' to lose weight or manage my health. And when I started walking I found myself in so much pain that I actually wore a maternity belt around my stomach to help hold up the weight of my stomach, and relieve some of the pressure off of my low back. Walking should be easy, walking should feel good, walking should be a way to calm the nerves and recharge your battery...it should be; but lets face it, for many of us its not. It took me a lot of trial and error to learn to walk without pain, and I wish I knew then what I know now. As a yoga therapist I have learned so much about the biomechanics of walking, and about functional movement, and learning that has given me even more knowledge about how to walk without pain.
As a yoga therapist I have had more than one client tell me about their walking pains, both mentally and emotionally. I have listened as clients have told me about needing to plan their walks around routes that have benches so that they can sit. I myself have avoided particular routes because of hills. I have had clients tell me that they just want to be able to enjoy a walk. After talking to my clients, friends and family I have decided that I want to help people walk with more ease and less pain, using the best parts of yoga and functional movement.
I would like to invite you to join me for an eight week workshop series where we will learn to walk with more ease and less pain. In this series you will get both personalized treatment as well as be part of a community with people that have like minded goals. Weekly you will receive a personalized program, a community zoom session and a video of yoga therapy movements to try for yourself.
Sessions begin Tuesday April 19th, 2022 at 7:30 pm over zoom and will run for eight weeks. The self investment is just $249.00. Below are the details:
To begin:
I want to ensure you that this is not a couch to 5K program, this is also not a weight loss program, this is a personalized program simply to make you confident when you walk. Your goals could be as simple as being able to walk from your bus stop to your office, or to be able to walk the grocery store without needing the cart not just to hold your groceries but to also hold you up. There is no goal that is too small, nor too big, in fact maybe a 5K is your goal. What makes this series different from other programs that are so easily found online is that your goals are not predetermined for you.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. To be added to the roster for the next session please click here to send Misty an email.

To begin:
- You will complete a questionnaire, telling me about your walking habits, goals and reasons for joining.
- Next you will record a video of yourself walking, telling me about what you are feeling while you do. If walking isn't accessible to you, a short video telling me about how you felt last time you tried will be absolutely fine. I will send you an example video, don't worry, I am going to be as vulnerable with you as you will be with me.
- Using that information I will be able to develop you a program, specific to your needs and goals.
- We will take time each week to share with each other about how were doing, a community check in. We will then have a discussion topic for the week where we will talk about our limiting beliefs about walking and exercise. We will also be exploring some journaling prompts as well as meditation.
- You will send me your weekly update and log.
- I will be sending you your personalized program for the week, with your new tracker for the week as well.
- You will receive a video with the movements for the week that you will explore on your own time.
