Why Wellness?
Wellness is a word that is thrown about quite liberally within a billion dollar industry.
What exactly IS Wellness? We offer services besides yoga to help you maintain or bring your wellness back to optimal functioning.
Below, you will find general descriptions of what we offer (a basic "wiki" if you will). Within our booking system, our Instructors have explained their unique spin on their classes. If you have any questions or would like to chat about your goals and/or challenges, hop over to the Contact page and get in touch.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is its own science within the science of yoga and has been studied extensively for its benefits to the nervous system. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation in which the student is guided by the practitioner through healing pathways that are based on the five layers of our being (Koshas), the physical layer, energy layer, emotional layer, wisdom layer and spiritual layer. As we work our way through each layer, healing and rest are achieved at a deeper level each time. Yoga Nidra is the ultimate form of rest, while being awake. Yoga Nidra can balance your nervous system and help bring you back to a place of equanimity and calm. Some believe that one session of Yoga Nidra is equal to or better than three hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra is a beautiful ancient practice to help you live a life of peace and wellbeing.

Reiki
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being Reiki therapy is based on an Eastern belief that vital energy flows through your body. The idea is that a Reiki practitioner uses gentle touch -- or places their hands just above your body -- to help guide this energy in a way that promotes balance and healing. A Japanese man named Mikao Usui developed Reiki in the 1920s. The term comes from two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means universal, and “ki,” which loosely translates to a lifeforce of energy. While there’s no research to show that the energy field involved in Reiki exists, you may find it relaxing. Reiki has been studied for conditions like pain, anxiety, and depression. It’s a complementary treatment, which means you use it along with proven traditional medical treatments. It doesn’t cure or get rid of any health conditions by itself.

Reiki for Animals
Reiki for Animals is for any animal that can be brought to the studio and handled by the practitioner. Reiki for Animals is based on the same principals as Reiki for Humans, in that the practitioner helps focus the body's energy into healing the chakras, or energy centers, of the body. Reiki is a calming, hands-on practice that helps to return the body to optimal physical and mental functioning.

Chakra Healing
Chakra (cakra in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. Some say there are 114 different chakras, this process works with the seven main chakras that run along the length of your spine. These are the chakras that most of us are referring to when we talk about them. Each of these seven main chakras has a corresponding number, name, color, specific area of the spine from the sacrum to the crown of the head, and health focus. Chakra Healing therapy works with the seven main Chakras (Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown) using your own body's energy. We Use the power of Reiki to balance and realign the Chakras. This is a very relaxing process that will leave you feeling empowered and aligned.

Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy uses the very best parts of Yoga; movement, breath and stillness to help you understand your mobility and your pain. Using specific exercises, not unlike physiotherapy we discover why you are feeling the way you are feeling: what parts of your body are working optimally, what parts are working that shouldn't be working or what parts of your body should be working. Using movement and breath we will look at how you move, break that into micromovements and start at the very basic functioning of your muscles and bones. Working together we can learn to understand how your body moves and how to get you out of pain. Yoga Therapy is a personal 1:1 service, custom designed just for you and your needs. Unlike physiotherapy, you are not just given exercises to do or given manual manipulation; you are learning movements and breathing techniques, you are doing the work to make lasting change.

Meditation
Meditation is a practice that you never master, rather you just keep practicing. Meditation can be done in many different ways (walking, gazing, guided, eating, singing mantra or quiet and still). Meditation is sometimes called mindfulness, although they technically are different. Meditation has been described as the act of emptying the mind, although trying to accomplish that is impossible. What we aim for is quieting our thoughts, staying present in the moment and following the ebb and flow of the breath. There is no one particular style of breath practice that is synonymous with Yoga.
Fascia Rolling
Fascia Rolling is done with Yoga Tune Up Balls (aka Yoga Therapy Balls), which are a dense yet squishy rubber. Using your body's own force and or weight, the balls are placed strategically around the body as you press into them or roll on them to create feedback and release of your body’s fascia.
